Introduction
Population Census is the process by which the government systematically collects information about the population size and their socio-economic conditions in a country.
In India:
First Census → 1872 (during Lord Mayo)
Regular Census → Conducted every 10 years since 1881
Last Census → 2011
Next Census → 2027 (after delay)
