Voter Registration Form-6 & Electoral Roll Revision: Supreme Court Clarification
The Supreme Court has unequivocally stated that it has not given any approval for the changes made by the Election Commission of India in 'Form-6' for new voter enrollment under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) procedure.
Election Commissioners Vivek Joshi and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu had opposed the modification of Form-6 through mere administrative instructions without a legal amendment to the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
