Additional Krishna Water for Tamil Nadu & Telugu Ganga Project

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister S. Joseph Vijay met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and requested the release of additional Krishna river water for Chennai's drinking water needs and to expedite the Godavari-Cauvery linking project.

As per the 1983 Telugu Ganga Agreement, 12 TMC of water should be supplied annually. Currently, only 35% water is available in Chennai's 5 main drinking water reservoirs, making the release of additional water essential.
