1. Dynasties and Important Rulers
Slave Dynasty (Mamluk Dynasty)
- Qutb-ud-din Aibak: Called 'Lakh Baksh' (Giver of Lakhs). He first imposed Jizya tax in India. Started the construction of Qutub Minar. Built the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque.
- Iltutmish: A slave of Qutb-ud-din Aibak. Formed the group of 'Forty' (Turkan-i-Chahalgani). Introduced Silver Tanka and Copper Jital coins. Freed himself from the authority of the Caliph.
- Razia Sultana: The first woman ruler of Delhi. Nizam-ul-Mulk Junaidi revolted against her.
- Ghiyas-ud-din Balban: Propounded the theory of Divine Right of Kings. Created the spy system called 'Barids'. Kidnapped by Mongols during childhood.
Khilji Dynasty
- Alauddin Khilji: Original name Ali Gurshasp. Called 'Sikandar-i-Sani' (Second Alexander). Introduced price control and market reforms.
- Campaigns: Chronology – Gujarat, Ranthambore, Chittor, Malwa. The southern campaign was led by Malik Kafur (1303).
- Alai Darwaza: Built
