1. From Babur to Aurangzeb – Important Events
Babur
- Major Battles: Kabul (1504), Kandahar (1522), First Battle of Panipat (1526).
- Last Battle: The Battle of Ghagra fought against the Afghans.
- Special Feature: The chief gunner in Babur’s army was Ustad Ali. The decline of the Rajputs helped Babur establish his rule.
Akbar
- Social Reform: To reduce child marriage, he fixed the marriageable age as 18 for men and 14 for women (a precursor to the Sharda Act).
- Policy: Sulh-i-Kul (also Alh-i-Kul) – Universal peace and liberal policy.
- Religious Policy: The only Hindu who accepted Din-i-Ilahi was Raja Birbal.
