1. State Human Rights Commission (SHRC)
- Established: 1993 (Under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993).
- Powers: Can recommend compensation to victims. It has the powers of a Civil Court.
- Jurisdiction: Can inquire into human rights violations related to subjects in the State and Concurrent Lists.
- Appointment Committee: The committee recommending the Chairperson includes:

• Speaker of the Legislative Assembly
• Home Minister
• Leader of the Opposition
• A sitting Judge of the High Court or a District Judge.
