1. Time Limits for Obtaining Information

| Information concerning life or liberty of a person | 48 hours |
| If application is submitted to Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) | Additional 5 days (Total 35 days) |
2. Important Authorities & Appointment
- Central Information Commission: The Chief Information Commissioner is appointed by the President of India.
- Recommendation Committee: 1. Prime Minister of India, 2. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, 3. A Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister.
- Reappointment: The Chief Information Commissioners at both Central and State levels are not eligible for reappointment.
