1. Bicameral Legislature

Note: Jammu and Kashmir had a bicameral legislature before it was reorganized as a Union Territory.
2. Creation and Abolition of Legislative Council
- Article 169: Deals with the creation or abolition of Legislative Councils in States.
- Procedure: The State Legislative Assembly has the power to recommend to Parliament for the abolition or creation of its Legislative Council.
- Tamil Nadu: The Legislative Council in Tamil Nadu was abolished in 1986 (came into effect). The resolution was passed in 1985.
