New ECINET App for Real-Time Updates on Voting and Vote Counting

ECINET App – Introduction

The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, stated that a new app called “ECINET” has been introduced to provide real-time information on voting and vote counting details.

Key Features of the ECINET App

Voting details can be accessed in real time.
Vote counting results can be known instantly.
Information will be available not only on the election day but also during the vote counting process.
Anyone can download and use the app.
This will help increase transparency.

44 – Reserved (SC)
2 – Scheduled Tribes (ST)

Voter Details

Total Voters – 5,67,07,380
Women – 2.89 Crore
Men – 2.77 Crore
Third Gender – 7,617 persons
Above 85 years – in thousands
Above 100 years – 2,530 persons
It is noteworthy that women voters are higher in number.

Polling Stations

Total – Approximately 75,000 polling stations
44,000 – In rural areas
Average voters per polling station – 756
100% live monitoring has been arranged.

Managed entirely by women – 258
Managed by persons with disabilities – 47
Model polling stations – 265

New Election Initiatives

Mobile phone deposit facility before entering the polling booth.
Candidate photographs in EVM – larger size and in color.
Names in bigger fonts – for clear visibility.

Historical Significance – Kudavolai System

In Tamil Nadu, the Kudavolai system was practiced in the 10th century.
It is considered an ancient democratic practice.
It was presented as an example to 72 countries in an international conference.
